Style Details
Cordings is delighted to further our collaboration with Chang – Ra this season, with their ultra fine pashmina scarves. They are an ethical accessories brand, run by a women’s collective in the Himalayas. Whilst roaming “the roof of the world” in Ladakh, Northern India, we stumbled on Chang - Ra and decided to partner with them. The luxurious pure fibre from the Changra goat is known globally as Pashmina, it is the softest and most expensive wool in the world. Ladakh produces less than 1% of the world’s total raw cashmere, but it is renowned for being the best. The production of these scarves supports the Changra nomadic people in their efforts to preserve their unique identity, culture and lifestyle. The micron of the fibre measures 8 – 10 microns in width, making it 10 times finer than human hair and eight times finer than sheep’s wool. The fibre used in our scarves is supported by authenticated independent laboratory testing of the raw material are all ethically certified and are 100% sustainable.

Specification
  • 100% Cashmere from Changra Goat
  • Made in the Himalayas, India
  • Dimensions: 206 x 72cm
  • Care Instructions: Hand wash with cold or lukewarm water with a mild soap, your favourite organic soap or baby shampoo. Spot clean for a minor stain. Dry your natural dyed pashmina in shade. Press the excess water, do not wring or twist. You may leave it to dry flat.
  • It is likely that your pashmina may fall victim to pilling. The finer the pashmina is, the longer the fibres are, so they are susceptible to pilling. Pilling doesn’t mean that the fabric is of inferior quality. During normal wear, the fibres of the scarf may tangle and mat together, you can remove with a fabric lint remover. Fold it and keep it in a clean, damp -free space or well packed in an airtight zip -lock bag
  • To discourage moths, place lavender sachets or cedar chips with your pashmina.
