IT'S ALL IN THE DETAIL
QUINTESSENTIALLY BRITISH
Cordings has long been a name synonymous with British country clothing, and few garments are more characterful than a jacket cut in traditional British tweed. First introduced in the 1920s, our classic three-button jacket remains true to its original form, defined by a timeless silhouette rooted in British tailoring.
Nearly a century on, Cordings continues to work with British and Irish mills that define the collection. Harris Tweed, Shetland and Donegal remain at its heart, alongside our signature House Check. These core shooting tweeds are offered across the full range, from breeks and waistcoats to caps and field coats, forming complete, practical shooting suits.
Naturally warm, weather resistant and hard-wearing, tweed is the definitive country cloth, designed to perform in the field while sitting comfortably in town.
The Cordings range always includes Harris Tweed, woven using traditional methods in the Outer Hebrides. Rich in colour and texture, modern tweed is soft, breathable and built for life – a jacket to wear now and pass on.
Cordings tweed is perfect in the country; on a days shooting, at Cheltenham Festival or as a smart alternative to a suit in town. Our tweeds are available in matching items, including plus twos, shooting waistcoats and caps. Each season we work with British mills to create a new collection of patterns, from Harris and Shetland tweeds to lightweight 10oz Yorkshire cloths. All in sustainable wool fabrics, in impeccably tailored garments built to last.
