The Follifoot Coat
This heritage full-length Raglan sleeved coat was introduced to the Cordings collection several years ago to fulfil a need for a less formal coat that has the flexibility to be worn both in the town and the country. The shoulder construction takes its name from Baron Raglan who adopted this diagonally cut sleeve during the Crimean War. The Raglan sleeve creates a wider underarm giving the wearer greater ease of movement and the ability to wear the coat with or without a jacket. Our Follifoot Raglan sleeved coat has always been crafted in a heavyweight 21oz Donegal herringbone Tweed that is woven for us exclusively by Magee.
This season we are running the cloth in a shade of grey with Donegal flecks in Purple, red, yellow and burnt orange. The flecks are also known as neps which appear at irregular intervals to give a heathered effect to the cloth.
In addition to the herringbone pattern, we have also introduced, as part of a collaboration with respected Menswear expert, Grey Fox, a checked version of the cloth in Autumnal shades of brown, green, red and gold with an array of Donegal flecks.
