How To Tie a Windsor Knot

To tie a Windsor knot, start with the wide end of the tie on the right and the narrow end on the left, with the wide end extending about 12 inches below the narrow end. Cross the wide end over the narrow end, then bring it up through the loop between the collar and the tie. Bring the wide end down and around behind the narrow end, then pull it across the front horizontally from right to left. Bring the wide end up through the loop again between the collar and the tie, then down through the knot in the front. Tighten the knot by holding the narrow end and sliding the knot up to the collar. Adjust as needed for symmetry and length.

How To Wear a Tie

A tie is an accessory that immediately makes an outfit smart. It is best worn with a shirt and jacket so you can see the whole tie. Wearing a colourful or patterned tie is a great way to boost your outfit with colour without affecting the formal appearance.
