Men's Straight Leg Jeans
Are Cordings jeans made from 100% cotton or do they have stretch?
Some of our jeans, like our Hebden moleskin jeans, are crafted from 100% cotton. Other Cordings jeans that have a small percentage of elastane within the fabric to add stretch, such as our James gabardine jeans, do so to maintain fabric durability.
What is the difference between Hebden Moleskin and James Gabardine?
The main difference between these two Cordings jeans is the fabric composition. The Hebden jeans are crafted from moleskin, which is a variety of cotton that is hefty, insulating and brushed on one side. Our Hebden jeans are 14oz (430gsm). The James jean is crafted from the same material, cotton, but is woven into a completely different fabric. Gabardine is much more lightweight, in this case 9oz (280gsm), ideal for warmer months.
What makes these a jean rather than a trouser?
The distinction between a 'jean' and a 'trouser' is more cultural and stylistic than it is structural; typically meaning a five-pocket construction, a mid-rise waist, belt loops, and a straight or tapered leg.
