Kent Unlined Wool Jacket

This piece marks an exciting collaboration between Cordings and Joslyn Clarke, former Creative Director of Grenfell and Gloverall, whose expertise in reviving iconic British outerwear brands has long been admired. Working with Joslyn as a consultant designer has allowed us to further expand our tradition of crafting timeless coats and jackets.

A contemporary interpretation of a classic, the Kent Jacket embodies the best of British outerwear design. Inspired by the original Norfolk shooting jacket of the 1850s and 1860s, a garment that balanced style, comfort and practicality, the Kent retains key heritage details such as bellows pockets and a throat tab, reimagined here in a refined, modern form.

Made in England from 100% Merino wool woven in Yorkshire, the 12oz (370gsm) cloth offers a soft yet robust handle, ideal for year-round wear. The jacket’s unlined and unstructured construction gives it a relaxed, easy drape, enhanced by an internal drawstring with a leather adjuster that allows subtle shaping at the waist. Lined sleeves ensure comfort, while thoughtful finishing touches, wide lapels, shirt cuffs, and Cordings-engraved buttons, lend a finishing touch.
